SANDON RIVER

Public BBQ

Sandon River Campground sits within Yuraygir National Park, accessible via Wooli Road, a challenging 4WD track threading through creek crossings, steep climbs, rainforest, and wetlands. The campground offers basic facilities with clean drop toilets but no showers. Campsites are positioned close together with corrugated iron dividers and crusher dust surfaces, which some find restrictive. The beach access is excellent for beginner surfers and families, with tranquil conditions that often feel uncrowded despite nearby campers. The caretaker provides friendly service. Road conditions can be rough with potholes, requiring careful navigation especially when towing. Marine life viewing opportunities exist along the coast.
